BULBES

Lightbulb music - Installation with Concerts

Tesla presents the Lightbulb installation "Bulbes" of the Canadian
artist group Artificiel, curated by Eric Mattson, curator of the
electronic music festival MUTEK.

In a kind of light-choreography the individual lamps change their
brightness and thereby produce sound. An audiovisual composition
develops, in which melodic and rhythmic structures wander around the
room, along with the changes of brightness.

In addition to being presented as an installation, "Bulbes" is
performed by different artists each week-end. Beside Artificiel
themselves (Dec. 2), pure (Vienna/Berlin, Dec. 3), Nicolas Bussmann
(Berlin, Dec. 10) and monolake (Berlin, Dec. 17) are guests of the
program. The artists steer the brightness values of the lamps 'live '
and in that way produce sound. The installation becomes an instrument
for different artists from the electronic music scene to produce
complex sound textures from electricity with their own aesthetics.

BULBES

Gluehbirnen Musik - Installation mit Konzerten

Tesla praesentiert die Gluehbirnen-Installation "Bulbes" der
kanadischen Kuenstlergruppe Artificiel, kuratiert von Eric Mattson,
Kurator des elektronischen Musikfestivals MUTEK, Montreal.

In einer Art Lichtchoreographie aendern 36 einzelne Lampen ihre
Helligkeit und erzeugen dadurch den Klang. Es entsteht eine
audio-visuelle Komposition, in der melodioese und rhythmische
Strukturen mit den Helligkeitsveraenderungen durch den Raum wandern.

Zusaetzlich zu der reinen Installation wird "Bulbes" an jedem
Wochenende von anderen Kuenstlern bespielt. Neben Artificiel selbst
(am 2.12) und Pure (Wien/Berlin, am 3.12) sind Nicolas Bussmann
(Berlin, am 10.12) und Monolake(Berlin, am 17.12) zu Gast. Die
Kuenstler steuern 'live' die Helligkeitswerte der Lampen und erzeugen
so Sounds. Die Installation wird zu einem Instrument fuer die
verschiedenen Kuenstler, die mit ihrer je eigenen Aesthetik komplexe
Klangtexturen aus Elektrizitaet erzeugen.
