Die transmediale befindet sich inzwischen in ihrem neunzehnten Jahr.
Diese Kontinuitaet in der Auswahl und Praesentation kuenstlerischer
Arbeiten hat zur Popularitaet des Festivals und der hohen Qualitaet
der teilnehmenden Einreichungen aus aller Welt beigetragen. Am
Wettbewerb der transmediale.06 nahmen auch im vergangenen Jahr wieder
ueber 1000 Kuenstlerinnen und Kuenstler teil.

Die transmediale.06 video selection ist eine Auswahl von neun
herausragenden Videoarbeiten, die beim diesjaehrigen Festival in der
Akademie der Kuenste in Berlin zu sehen waren. Fuer dieses
Auswahlprogramm haben wir eine Reihe sehr unterschiedlich
produzierter Werke zusammengestellt, die einen weitreichenden
Einblick in die gegenwaertige kuenstlerische Videoproduktion in Form
und Inhalt eroeffnen sollen.

Das Programm umfasst Arbeiten von:
John Butler, Stacy Hardy & Jaco Bouwer, Dariusz Krzeczek, Jakub
Nepras, Manuel Saiz, Sarah Vanagt, Rolando Vargas & Catherine Cely,
Jan Verbeek, Mai Yamashita & Naoto Kobayashi.

transmediale is now in its 19th year. This continuity of selecting
and presenting video art has fostered the popularity of the festival,
and the great quality of the participating works from all over the
world. For the transmediale.06 competition, again more than 1000
works were submitted in 2005.

The transmediale.06 video selection consists of nine outstanding
video works that were presented in the 2006 edition of the Berlin
based festival for art and digital culture.
For the video selection programme of transmediale.06, we deliberately
chose works that differ strongly in the way they were produced.
Consequently, these videos give a wide-ranging insight into the
dimensions of current artistic video production in form and content.

The programme includes works by:
John Butler, Stacy Hardy & Jaco Bouwer, Dariusz Krzeczek, Jakub
Nepras, Manuel Saiz, Sarah Vanagt, Rolando Vargas & Catherine Cely,
Jan Verbeek, Mai Yamashita & Naoto Kobayashi.

The selection can be rented for public presentation at a fee of EUR 150
(plus VAT). Screening copies are available as DVD-R and miniDV Pal,
