2. Reality & me
Freitag, 3. Februar, 14:00

4. Ugly but trendy
Samstag, 4. Februar, 21:00

'I'm Ugly but I'm Trendy'

6. The making of
Sonntag, 5. Februar, 12:00

Seeing is believing.
'The making

Erscheinungsweise. Als gemeinsames Element verbindet sie die Konstruktion
konzentrierter Momentanitaet.

[06] Collateral surface
'Collateral surfaces' sind sich seitwaerts bewegende Oberflaechenkonstruktionen.
In ihrer narrativen Kreisbahn bleiben diese Oberflaechen intakt, brechen also

2. Reality & me
Friday, February 3, 14:00

’Reality & me’ is dedicated to the openings and interspaces in reality. Common
routines are being observed and through the subtle shifting of perspectives and
frameworks of action, unexpected and unusual constellations are constructed from
initially rather unspectacular everyday situations.

3. Intercepting reality
Friday, February 3, 21:00

The 'reality addicts’ in this programme create their very own reality. They use
elements of the common, agreed-upon reality so to maintain compatible points of
transition with their own version of it. Dream worlds and desire worlds mingle
ironically and humorously as well as in emotional and poetical ways.

4. Ugly but trendy
Saturday, February 4, 21:00

Rio de Janeiros' funk music scene consists of many female MCs and girl groups,
because their participation guarantees a success for the dance-hall business.
'I'm Ugly but I'm Trendy' by Denise Garcia introduces to Rio's funk universe -
but from a female perspective: it shows the hard rapping women also off-stage
in 'real' life, as mother, wife or student.

Berlin's migrant kids and their rage against a society considered as hostile
shows 'Wedding 65' by Rozbeh Asmani. His protagonists reflect on their daily
life between juvenile delinquency, unemployment and social engagement. Hip Hop
and Break Dance suit their desire to express their own identity between
parental origin and German reality.

5. Solmaz Shahbazi
Tuesday, February 7, 18:00

Two documentaries by Iranian filmmaker Solmaz Shahbazi show the reality and the
history of Tehran and the life of young people, focusing on central questions
of today’s situation in Iran. In 'Good Times, Bad Times' young Tehranians, born
after the Islamic revolution 1978, about their hopes, sorrows and opinions on
the relations between sexes, love and marriage, about religious issues and
political reality. 'Tehran 1380' is a homage to uncontrolled growing metropolis
in concrete and neon that does not seem to fit into any western expectation.

6. The making of
Sunday, February 5, 12:00

Seeing is believing. Out of all possible methods to examine creation the camera
is regarded as the most truthful one. The documentary on approach and progress
of neuroscience is also a film about vision and filmmaking. ‘The making of’ is
based on the analogy of visual perception and filmmaking. The central question
is: How creative is science and how objective is film?

7. Imagine native
Monday, February 6, 17:00

The videos in this compilation all come from the Canadian distributor and
co-founder of the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, Vtape, which has
developed a special focus on distributing these works. The title of the
programme is a reference to the annual Toronto-based festival of the same name.
It is a platform for artistic video works by 'First Nations Canadians' and

[03] Instant constructions
The works of the 'instant constructions' vary strongly in their appearance. The
connecting element is the construction of a concentrated momentariness, from
the closed structures of hectic found images to concentrated conspiracy theory
and practice. Together they operate in the field of tension between the picture
and what is being depicted; between appearance and reality.

[06] Collateral surface
Here, 'collateral surfaces' are sideways-moving surfaces. Their narrative circle
does not get broken up, but remains intact to make visible the underlying
framework and the 'parallel intersections' even more clearly.

[08] Close distances
Distance and closeness; the distanced perspective upon the however immediate and
its alleged contraries are here in the foreground. At the same time, this
perspective becomes interwoven with the unaccountable serenity towards the
inescapable - the bomb, which in a moment of fatalistic clarity, reconstructs
the imbalance of power.

[09] Grinding borders
The use of force in various ways is the focus of the artistic and documentary
works in this programme. 'grinding borders' ranges from the abstraction of
direct photographic documents to unfiltered aggression and the situative
presence of still-smouldering relics of hardly settled conflicts. But at the
same time almost poetic-seeming brief moments of repose emerge, in a most
likely ,only temporary, lull.
