Der Wettbewerb der transmediale befindet sich inzwischen in seinem
achtzehnten Jahr. Diese Kontinuitaet in der Auswahl und Praesentation
kuenstlerischer Arbeiten hat zur Popularitaet des Festivals und der
hohen Qualitaet der teilnehmenden Einreichungen aus aller Welt
beigetragen. Am Wettbewerb der transmediale.05 nahmen wieder weit
ueber 900 Kuenstlerinnen und Kuenstler teil.

Die 'transmediale.05 video selection' ist eine Auswahl von acht
herausragenden Videoarbeiten, die beim diesjaehrigen Festival im
Berliner Haus der Kulturen der Welt zu sehen waren. Fuer dieses
Auswahlprogramm haben wir eine Reihe sehr unterschiedlich produzierter
Arbeiten zusammengestellt, die einen breit gespannten Einblick in die
gegenwaertige kuenstlerische Videoproduktion in Form und Inhalt
eroeffnen sollen.

Das Programm umfasst Arbeiten von:
Chris Oakley (uk), MYLICON/EN (it), Corinna Schnitt (de), NomIg. (ca),
Lina Selander (se), Juan Romero (es), Le Collectif Magique (fr) and
Johann Lurf (at).

Das Programm kann fuer oeffentliche Vorfuehrungen gegen eine Gebuehr von
EUR 150 (zzgl. Ust.) ausgeliehen werden. (Die Gebuehr kommt
groesstenteils den Kuenstlern als Honorar zugute.)

Vorfuehrkopien des Programms sind erhaeltlich in den Formaten DVD-R
und miniDV Pal, Previews auch als VHS Pal.

The award competition of transmediale is now in its 18th year. This
continuity of selecting and presenting video art has fostered the
popularity of the festival, and the great quality of the participating
works from all over the world. For the transmediale.05 competition,
again more than 900 works were submitted.

The 'video selection' consists of eight outstanding video works that
participated in this year's international competition of the Berlin
based media art festival, and gives a broad insight into current
artistic video production.

For the video selection programme of transmediale.05, we deliberately
chose works that differ strongly in the way they were produced.
Consequently, these videos give a wide-ranging insight into the
dimensions of current artistic video production in form and content.

The programme includes works by:

The selection can be rented for public presentation at a fee of EUR 150
(plus VAT). (The main part of this fee goes to the artists as a honorarium.)

Screening copies are available as DVD-R and miniDV Pal, preview
copies also as VHS Pal.
