Die kommende Biennale für Video und Neue Medien in Santiago de Chile hat
die transmediale eingeladen, herausragende kuenstlerische,
medienbasierte Arbeiten vom 19. November bis 7. Dezember 2003 im Museum
für zeitgenoessische Kunst (MAC) zu praesentieren.
aktuelle Programmaenderungen
/ / / Die Live Performance von Rechenzentrum kann nicht stattfinden.
Stattdessen werden @c + lia in Santiago am 21. November im MAC
performen.
Das vor allem durch Minimalismus und Klarheit bestimmte, in Echtzeit
produzierte audiovisuelle Konzert von @c + lia steht exemplarisch für
kuenstlerische Experimente im Grenzgebiet zwischen audiovisuellem
Entertainment und Kunst hin, die der club transmediale und die
transmediale im Bereich der Performance praesentieren. Im Dialog mit @c,
die die musikalische Ebene der Performance gestalten, erschafft lia die
Visuals, die einer abstrakten Formensprache verschrieben sind. Mit
groesstenteils selbst programmierter Software, die Klang und Bild zu
einer Einheit fuehrt, ist es für @c + lia moeglich, innerhalb vorher
festgelegter Strukturen auf der Buehne live zu improvisieren.

/ / / Im Rahmen von transmediale_extended_vol.1 wird zudem die neue von
visomat produzierte DVD ,DIN AV' als Preview gezeigt. Die DVD ist
offiziell erst im Januar 2004 erhaeltlich.
Komplexester Ausdruck der Clubkultur ist der des Live-Videomixes. Dabei
werden zur Musik der DJs/Musiker verschiedene Bildquellen zu einem
Bildteppich verwoben, durch die Aktivität der VJs reagieren die Bilder
auf die Musik und werden zum Bindeglied zwischen Musik und Raum. Die
Video-Mixe verstehen sich nicht als Videoclip im herkoemmlichen Sinne,
sondern als aesthetische Umsetzung der Musik.

/ / / transmediale_extended_vol.2 bei Artronica - an international
electronic arts show
Bogota, Kolumbien, 28. Oktober bis 5. November
Diesen Herbst zeigt die transmediale zudem bei zwei anderen Festival in
Kolumbien eine Auswahl kuenstlerischer Arbeiten, die auf dem Programm
von transmediale_extended_vol.1 basieren. So ist das Programm
transmediale_extended_vol.2 zu Gast bei Artronica in Bogota. Das Goethe
Institut Bogota, die franzoesische Botschaft und die Central Bank’s Luis
Angel Arango Bibliothek veranstalten vom 28. Oktober bis 5. November
erstmalig das Artronica, im Rahmen dessen werden experimentelle,
elektronische, kuenstlerische Produktionen praesentiert werden.
Mehr als 150 Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Videokunst, Webart, interaktive
Kunst und elektronischer Musik werden zu sehen sein, ausgewaehlt aus
Programmen bekannter Festivals und Institutionen aus dem
deutschsprachigen Raum und Frankreich wie der transmediale, der Ars
Electronica in Linz, dem intermedium Festival des ZKM Karlsruhe, dem
European Media Art Festival (EMAF) in Osnabrueck, dem Pierre Schaeffer
Centre International de Creation Video (CICV) in Herimoncourt, dem
Instants Video Festival in Manosque sowie der Heure Exquise!
Organisation.
Ergaenzt wird das Programm durch einen Zirkel von Vorlesungen, die
sowohl von Theoretikern als auch Kuenstlern abgehalten werden und in
Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen kolumbianischen Universitaeten
konzipiert wurden.
Am Mittwoch, dem 5. November findet außerdem im Teatro Colon ein Konzert
von Errorsmith und Visomat statt.
Im Anschluss an das Artronica Festival wird Dr. Susanne Jaschko,
Kuratorin der transmediale, am 10. November die Screenings
‚architextures of the ambient’ und ‚Videokunst aus Deutschland’ im
Goethe Institut Bogota praesentieren.

Manizales, Kolumbien, 11. bis 15. November
Die Fakultaet für visuelles Design der Caldas Universitaet organisiert
zusammen mit der Gemeinde Manizales und dem Kulturministerium Kolumbien
das III. International Festival of the Image, in dessen Zentrum die
Reflektion ueber die Produktion von Bildern am Anfang des 21.
Jahrhunderts steht.
Ihre Teilnahme haben u.a. zugesagt: Christa Sommerer & Laurent
Mignonneau (IAMAS Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences, Japan),
Knowbotic Research (Fakultaet fuer Neue Medien der Hochschule für
Gestaltung und Kunst, Zuerich), PK Langshaw (Direktor der Fakultaet
Design Art, Concordia Universität, Montreal), Claudia Giannetti
(Direktorin des MECAD / Media Centre d'Art i Disseny of the Superior
Escola of Disseny ESDi, Barcelona) und Peter Weibel (Direktor ZKM,
Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe).

The up-coming Biennial of Video and New Media in Santiago de Chile has
invited the renowned festival transmediale to show outstanding artistic
media productions at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), the
Biennial’s venue, from November 19 to December 7, 2003.

/ / / The live performance of Rechenzentrum has been cancelled. @c + lia
will perform live at the MAC on November 21 instead.
The Club Transmediale and Transmediale, in the area of performance,
present a concert by @c+lia, standing as an example of artistic
experiments on the borderline between audiovisual entertainment and art.
In a dialogue with @c who produce the musical layer of the performance,
lia creates the visuals, in a minimal and abstract performance that is
the outcome of multifarious artistic activities. Sound and image
synthesis software, many of which programmed by themselves, allow them
to improvise on stage inside the spectrum of previously fixed
structures.

/ / / In the framework of transmediale_extended_vol.1 the new DVD ,DIN
AV' which has been produced by visomat will be shown as a preview. The
official release date of the DVD will be January 2004.
Most complex expression of club culture is the live video mix. To the
sounds of the DJs/musicians, different sources of images are weaved to a
carpet. The images react to the music by the activity of the VJs, they
turn into a link between music and space. Video mixes must not be seen
as a videoclip in its usual sense, but as an aesthetic translation of
the music.

electronic arts show
Bogota, Colombia, October 28 to November 5
This autumn transmediale will show a programme at two other festivals in
Colombia which is based on the programme of transmediale_extended_vol.1.
The programme called transmediale_extended_vol.2 will be guest at the
Artronica in Bogota. The Goethe Institute Bogota, the French Embassy and
the Central Bank's Luis Angel Arango Library will present Artronica for
the first time. It will take place from October 28 to November 5 and
will show experimental, electronic artworks.
More than 150 projects from the fields of video art, net art,
interaction and electronic music will be presented at the Artronica
festival, chosen from the programmes of several renowned festivals from
Germany, Austria and France such as transmediale, Ars Electronica
(Linz), the international festival of the ZKM Karlsruhe, the European
Media Art Festival (EMAF) in Osnabrueck, the Pierre Schaeffer Centre
International de Création Vidéo (CICV) in Hérimoncourt, the Instants
Vidéo Festival in Manosque and the Heure Exquise! organisation.
The programme will be completed by a circle of lectures from both
theoreticians and artists which have been conceived in cooperation with
several Colombian universities.
On Wednesday, November 5 a concert by Errorsmith and Visomat will take
place at the Teatro Colon.
Following the Artronica Festival, Dr. Susanne Jaschko, curator of
transmediale, will present the screenings ,architextures of the ambient'
and ,Videoart from Germany' at the Goethe Institut Bogota on November
10.

The Image
Manizales, Colombia, November 11 to November 15
The Department of Visual Design of the Caldas University, the community
of Manizales and the Ministry of Culture in Colombia are organising the
III International Festival Of The Image. The festival focuses on the
reflection upon the production of images at the beginning of the 21st
century.
In the encounter, the following have already confirmed their
