Der Medienkuenstler Chris Salter arbeitet im interdisziplinaeren 
Terrain zwischen Performance, Installation, Sound und Research. Er 
studierte Oekonomie und Philosophie und promovierte mit einer Arbeit 
ueber Theater und Computer-generierte Klaenge an der Universitaet von 
Stanford. Er arbeitete u.a. mit Peter Sellars und William Forsythe am 
Frankfurter Ballett zusammen und war Mitbegruender der Kunst- und 
Forschungsinitiative Sponge, deren Arbeit z.B. bei der Ars 
Electronica, SIGGRAPH 2000, Mediaterra-Athens, dem Exploratorium, 
Villette Numerique, Banff Center und V2_ gezeigt wurden. Salter ist 
Gastdozent an der Rhode Island School of Design und 2003 artist in 
residence am Podewil. Er praesentiert aktuelle Projekte und 'work in 
progress' und laedt ein zu einem Dialog ueber neue Methoden 
interdisziplinaerer kuenstlerischer Forschungspraxis.

Chris Salter studied economics and philosophy and completed a Ph.D. 
in the areas of theater and computer-generated sound at Stanford 
University. He has collaborated with, among others, Peter Sellars, 
and William Forsythe and the Ballett Frankfurt. He co-founded the 
art+research organization Sponge, whose works stretch between the 
areas of performance, installation, scientific research and 
publications and have been shown at Ars Electronica, SIGGRAPH 2000, 
Mediaterra-Athens, the  Exploratorium, Villette Numerique, Banff 
Center and V2, a.o. Salter is a guest professor at Rhode Island 
School of Design and media artist in residence at Podewil in 2003. He 
will discuss current work in progress and invites other artists for a 
dialogue about new methods in interdisciplinary art and research.
